You’d think a taxi company wouldn’t be the most riveting project in the world of digital - but once you get under the bonnet (sorry, too easy), we were surprised by what we discovered.

 

Blueline is one of the most established taxi companies in the North East, with a longstanding reputation for high standards and for never saying that ‘the driver is just around the corner’!

Land has worked with Blueline on a range of technical projects to create new revenue channels and drive efficiencies within the business, and it’s a real thrill to work with such an innovative local business.

 

Blueline had identified an opportunity to increase the earning potential of its drivers and create further brand exposure among businesses throughout the North East.

This opportunity came in the form of the implementation of headsets with an embedded tablet, which would display location-based adverts to passengers throughout their journey (an average journey time had previously been identified as around 12 minutes).

 

Working with a range of hardware suppliers, we developed a platform that would allow advert associated media to be uploaded to the online platform, which would communicate with the mobile headsets to ensure all adverts were up to date at all times.
