If you’ve ever seen Glengarry Glen Ross or The Wolf of Wall Street, you’ll know sales can be an unforgiving business!

 

Stormcast Sales - which bears no resemblance to either of the two films we’ve just mentioned - was a sales consultancy looking to create a USP for its service offering and generate additional value for its customers.

The business had created a framework around the dark art of sales, supported by a spreadsheet provided to each customer for them to complete and update in line with their sales activities.

 

At the mere whisper of a spreadsheet being used in this way, our curiosity was piqued. How did it work? Were customers actually using it?

 

The answers were ‘yes’ and ‘kinda’ - which are actually great answers, as they demonstrate a clear need and intent to use (if not in the habitual manner originally intended).
